The QUANCOM® ETHOPTOREL8 board has 8 opto inputs and 8 relays and is designed for industrial purposes. The relays are able to switch up to 1A / 15W. To switch higher capacity and voltage exernal relays are necessary. This is for example our QUANCOM® MODSSR230 for 230V.
 Connection examples for optocoupplers and relays

Optocouplers protecting the inputs up to 500 Volts
All inputs are protected by optocouplers. This ensures protection for your personal computer in heavy electrically polluted environment. These optocouplers are designed as AC-optocouplers which means that the polarity of the input signal makes no difference. Also all the inputs have no common ground, so that each of the inputs signals may have a different ground-signal. If you want to have an input range from 5V to 12V you may tell us with your order. The default input range is 12V to 30V.

Input edge detection
The 8 inputs are equiped with input flipflops which detect quick input state changes or remove switch bounce. This allows the detection of fast input changes.

Timeout control
The board has a configurable onboard timeout control which detects all writes to the ETHOPTOREL8 Ethernet Module. If the software hangs and the board isn't controlled by the personal computer the outputs are switched off. Think about a heating which overheats or even burns because the PC is "to busy" to switch the heating off. You may setup the timeout-time from 1ms to 16 hours in different steps. This feature can be switched off by a software command.

You need no knowledge in the driver development. We implemented an command set which is the same for all operating systems. An application that controls the ETHOPTOREL8, and which is generated for Windows XP can be used directly on a Windows 7 PC.

With the QLIB it is easy to create applications with Visual-Studio .NET, Visual-Basic, Borland Delphi or other modern compilers. Even an interface to MS Excel, MS Access or Sun Java is available.

The QLIB is a API which provides it's functions through a Windows DLL, so it is possible to use QLIB with all applications that allow access to external DLL Functions.

QCLI (QUANCOM Command Line Interface)
The QUANCOM Command Line Interface (QCLI) was made for all those which don´t have programming experience or knowledge.

It is a simple command line tool which makes it able to control our I/O and Watchdog boards with some very simple strings.

Note that this procedure is not as fast as a programm written in a higher programmiung language, for example C.

Command Line Tool to Change Module Address
This command line tool makes it possible to change the address of your module by software.

Note that therefore the installed Firmware has to be higher or equal to Version 1.30 and the switch in the QLIB Configuration Utility must be set correctly.

Da das QCLI recht simpel gehalten ist, ist es um ein wesentliches langsamer, verglichen zu einem gut programmierten Programm.
